  From Yoel: "As far as I know my father's family came originally from Russia, I do not know when and from which part of Russia. My father had about 10 brothers and sisiters (of those born alive), a few of them avoided the military service in Lithuania or Russia by escaping to the USA, even before my father was born and he only met them when he visited the US in 1951. My father's father was a Rabi and extremely poor, so when my parents got married, and maybe even before, he came to live with my mother's family. I think he was joined by his sister, therefore I am not sure whether Sima was my father's or mother's sister."
